Dnipro was closed city until 1987, because it was "The space capital of the USSR". This special status allowed to begin construction of the underground in Dnipro. 6 metro stations were opened in 1995. Till that time no more stations were built. Today underground in the Dnipro extremely unprofitable. It’s one of the shortest lines in the world. But small amount of passengers, the almost complete absence of advertising, help to keep a very special atmosphere in the subway — purity of underground retro-futuristic city.

Дніпропетровськ був закритим містом до 1987-го через статус "космічної столиці УРСР". Це надало можливість розпочати тут будівництво метрополітену. У 1995-му було відкрито 6 станцій. Відтоді не зведено жодної нової. Сьогодні метро у Дніпрі одне з найкоротших у світі. Але невелика кількість пасажирів та майже повна відсутність нав’язливої реклами, зберегли у метро особливу атмосферу — підземного ретро-футуристичного міста.
