For future us is an observation series of delays, repetitions and breaks in space and time caused by a hybrid (online/offline) mode of the Viadrinicum 2021 Summer School. While a half of the participants of the school had a chance to be present in Frankfurt(Oder), we all talked through Zoom, even sitting in the one room. Passing through the tiny shifts, fractures and cracks in this mediated environment, we usually cease to attach importance to them. Although in future, among the mass of updates, we will hardly be able to find the causes and sources of larger-scale changes occurred by these tiny errors. Therefore, we have collected evidences of early mediated human communication for our future. A postcard for future us.
All three parts of the project are connected and should be seen as a multimedia installation. Tables, school chairs and objects of our 2-weeks life are the evidences of our collective presence, both online (digitalized and detached) and offline (embodied and intimate).

Для нас майбутніх – серія спостережень за зламами, зсувами та розривами в просторі та часі, що були викликані гібридним (онлайн/офлайн) режимом Літньої школи Viadrinicum 2021. Поки лише половина учасників школи мала можливість бути у Франкфурті (Одері), ми всі спілкувалися через Zoom, навіть сидячи в одній кімнаті. Зіштовхуючись із крихітними затримками, повторами та розривами в цьому медіатизованому середовищі, ми зазвичай перестаємо надавати їм значення. Хоча в майбутньому, серед маси оновлень, ми навряд чи зможемо знайти причини та джерела більш масштабних змін, які відбудуться через ці крихітні помилки. Тому ми зібрали докази раннього медіатизованого спілкування людей для нашого майбутнього. Листівка для нас майбутніх.
Всі три частини проєкту пов’язані між собою і повинні розглядатися як мультимедійна інсталяція. Столи, шкільні стільці та об'єкти з нашого двотижневого життя є свідченнями нашої спільної присутності, як онлайн (дигіталізовані та відокремлені), так і офлайн (матеріально втілені та близькі).

This video with the bell ring reveals the situation of mediated space. Its sound was recorded in four different locations: in the bell tower itself, the square near Marien-kirche, in the classroom and in Zoom (recorded feedback with open dynamics). The sound of the bell is a kind of unifying object, a sound, that connected us being present in the real space and simultaneously active in Zoom, and those participants who could participate only from their homes.

Це відео з дзвоном розкриває ситуацію медіатизованого простору. Його звук був записаний в чотирьох різних локаціях: на самій дзвіниці, на площі біля Марієн-Кірхе, в класній комнаті та в Zoom (запис фідбеку з відкритими динаміками). Звук дзвону – це свого роду об’єднуючий об’єкт, звук, який з’єднав нас, співприсутніх у фізичному просторі і водночас активних у Zoom, і тих учасників, які могли брати участь лише зі своїх домівок.
This video loop captures performances on the streets of the city of Frankfurt (Oder). The guy dancing on the streets is a mediator between real and digital modes, and it reminds of a game character who experiences damages and glitches through multiple angles of a viewer.

The series of interviews with participants of Viadrinicum 2021 was made of mobile video recordings from laptop screen. It reveals emotional aspect of each person: we heartheir own impressions and feelings, thus can experience the intimacy and distance at the same time.
